A card game written for same-sex couples, too
Updated
Yes. Our Deck is written for same-sex couples as well as mixed ones. Every card uses your two names, never him or her, and the deck is seated on your bodies: two vulvas get 25 cards written only for them, two penises 26.
How the deck adapts to your couple
When you set up, each of you picks a body: vulva or penis. From then on the deck deals only cards that fit the two of you, and seats each card so its instruction matches who is doing what.
In the app's words: “This filters the deck. It is not a question about identity, and you can change it at any time.” Your answers stay on your phone and are never sent anywhere.
Your deck, by couple
Same-sex couples don't get a smaller deck with cards missing. They get a different deck, with cards of their own.
| Couple | Full deck | Written only for you | Free cards |
|---|---|---|---|
| One of each | 191 cards | None needed | 36 |
| Two vulvas | 200 cards | 25 | 36 |
| Two penises | 211 cards | 26 | 37 |
Cards written only for same-anatomy couples
Some cards only make sense for one kind of couple, so they were written for it instead of adapted. Two from Tease, both still clothed:
UNDER THE SHIRT
Stand behind Maria and slide both hands up under their shirt, palms flat over their chest, and don't move them. Kiss the back of their neck for one minute. Your thumbs only start moving when Maria presses back into you.
BEARD BURN
Kiss Theo along the jaw, down the side of the neck, across the inside of a wrist: stubble first, lips after. One minute, and leave them pink. No stubble this round? Use the edge of your teeth, lightly.
Two penises also get a Ground Rules card of their own, ROLES: “Decide now who's topping this round, or whether you're switching. Say it out loud so neither of you is guessing later.”
Your names, never him or her
Cards are written with your two names, so a card reads “Kiss Theo along the jaw”, not “kiss him”. Every card also says whose turn it is, or Together.
The same card plays correctly for any couple, because the deck decides who does what when it deals it.
Trans and nonbinary partners
The setup asks which cards fit each body, never about gender. Choose whatever deals the cards you want for the two of you, and change it any time in Settings.
Packs work the same way
Expansion packs are seated on your couple too, and some of their cards are written only for same-anatomy couples. Back Door, Power, Adoration and Sensory can also be aimed at one of you each round. See the packs.
